the PGR series is pretty much dead now so i dont think they should bother with PGR5

What?? No! Forza Motorsport 2 was rubbish - Trust me, I've tried to like it and got into it last week but ended up bored stupid... It was good, but nothing at all compared to the greatness of PGR4!

I hope they improve it, ontherwise it will be in the same place where my PGR4 is, in its box, used no more than 3 times, full of dust on it...Sad [:(]

    Serious!? How is it worse?

I think PGR should be burried... they tried everything in PGR4 and tbh it sucked and no one plays it... so with EA now making an F1 game which will come out on 360 + grid + FM3 theres no place for it now

It's currently number 1 for sales in the budget chart. And it was up near the top at release too. Forza is rubbish. The dirt/grid serious is brilliant and so is all PGR's, including PGR4, the best one yet.

    Re: PGR 5

First of all I played all the games in the series including MSR and with the exception of the first pgr on xbox with this in mind keep reading if u have the patience

I hope they make pgr 5 and i hope they are more careful with the things they make instead of trying to make alot of things at the same time, I would rather play on 3 cities only than have 8 cities and 4 of them looking rushed go bor perfection bizarre i really loved Macau It looks fantastic, St Pete, NY looks good, Vegas looks alright but could be better, tokyo looks ok but i liked more the lighting in pgr 3,  Quebec looks fantastic, London could use some improvement but still better than pgr3.

The cars/bikes look about as good as you will see in this gen if you want detailed tracks needing only very small improvements.(I removed the game update so I play with dynamic shadows)

Then theres the general lighting and feel the game gives by paying attention to small details like the marks the tires leave on the road in the rain and snow even when ur not sliding the real time reflections on almost every single reflective surface is very well done, including on the road when it rains the weather effects the fog the snow the rain etc really make the game shine and feel different from the others the simple detail of the water starting going up with the wind as you go fast in the driver's view camera among other great looking details really give this game the edge in graphics agains any other game.

Not everything is perfect about it Shangai looks like crap thanks to the texture loading problems this is the only city where i really feel texture loading gets in the way even though some minor texture problems are present in all cities, the frame rate has got some very small drops nowhere near as big as many people try to make it look like.

Even doing all this the game runs at a quite higher resolution than pgr3 for the one that dont know pgr3 runs at 1024x600 with 2xAA pgr4 runs at 1280x720 2xAA wich really gives the game a sharper look even though its seems to be missing the awsome pgr3 HDR lighting pgr4 is a much better game overall than all the other pgr4 adding bikes really made it a better game though I was kind of dissapointed it didnt have my bike (R1) and the R6 rpm was limited...

My point is theres still alot of room for improvement but its still the best looking/playing racing game this gen

Sorry for the extra long post but I'm trying to make some points here

    Re: PGR 5

People keep saying that PGR3 is better than PGR4, but really i dont agree. no i haven't played PGR2, but what exactly is bad with it this time round? i think they are just trying to 'compete' with higer class racing games, but keeping thier own style of gameplay. they have some things better over other racing games, real cities, weather, (Gran turismo 4 tried but i don't think they are take it it forward to GT5)
at the moment they have better over classic cars, i mean come on a sierra cosworth, and an austin  cooper in the same game. and for real racing fans even got all versions of the nurburgring, maybe its because i've only started at  PGR3  but  i still think its progressing, if anything was really wrong they would change it.

Where do I begin?  Poor car class layout carried over from PGR 3, botched in car views (no hud and can't see over some steering wheels), removal of Gotham Tv, no boost guage , no odometer for each car, "Max" Kudos (what the f*ck were they thinking), pointless leaderboards, winning by having more kudos (??I thought this was a racing game??), limited contoller options, motorcycles, no day and night option, poor online collision physics, and complete destruction of the Cat & Mouse gametype...  to name a few things.  You haven't played PGR 2.... or PGR 1 I'm assuming.  No offence meant here... but you don't know what PGR can be, 3 and 4 are jokes.

    Re: PGR 5

the forza 2 concept sounds like a good premise for the next game:  have the forza 2 team develop it, keep a bunch of the cars that are in pgr4 plus a few more from the forza roster, suggestions etc.

use the forza physics and tuning ability but have a casual option that turns of the need for tuning and minute setup changes.  keep several of the good tracks from pgr4 and add in a bunch from forza, keep several of the modes in pgr and someone develop a proper force feedback wheel w/ a clutch and 6 spd shifter and viola.  In theory you have a game that appeals to every racer

    Re: PGR 5

Dont make PGR sim like. The blend of arcade and sim is perfect from PGR2. If i wanted a sim id go on the PC, one of my gripes about Forza is that its touted as a sim - when it fact it is a light sim compared to GTR2 etc. Turn 10 shouldnt make it, they pissed FM2 up the wall.

Yes [Y]  I would like to see Codemasters have a go at PGR.  They did a fine job with DiRT (lacking multiplayer though, it's just the way rally racing works) and Grid looks promising.  I don't want to see EA making PGR 5.  Turn 10 would probably mess it up.... no worse than Bizarre did though, but EA would burn it to the ground.  Chances are PGR 4 is the last one we will see, the game sold poorly and Microsoft my decide to shelve the series forever.

Digital Illusions might be a good choice. They are the ones that developed Rallisport Challenge.

And hopefully Microsoft will buy the rights and make it them selves because EA can't make a good simulation racer.

Lets do the math, Forza sold around 1,000,000 copies at around $60 a game.  So Microsoft got (1,000,000x60=) $60,000,000.  Now, lets assume a F1 game would sell around 2-3 million copies.  I think it would be a good investment for the F1 rights.

    Re: PGR 5

id actually like to see an F1 game.  I have F1 2001 and really like it but i was disappointed to see F1 2002... and all the other F1 games comin out for the ps2  but not for xbox.

F1 01  looked good on xbox, framerate was a little slow and the graphics were choppy in places but it still looked good.  It should be pretty solid on the 360
